IRA SPRINTS HEAD ‘OVER THE BORDER’ FOR 5th ANNUAL BILL WAITE JR. MEMORIAL AT LA SALLE SPEEDWAY!

BILL WAITE JR. MEMORIAL SHOWCASES IRA/MOWA SHOWDOWN!

August 19, 2014; LaSalle, IL – It doesn’t require a passport, but the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series prepares to cross the border!

The series slips out of it’s home state of Wisconsin, into Illinois this weekend for the 5th Annual Bill Waite Jr. Memorial event to be held on Saturday night August 23th at LaSalle Speedway.

The contest is the only event on the 31 race schedule held in Illinois this season.

The high-banked quarter-mile clay oval provides plenty of close quarter, wing to wing action, and the $4,000 top prize will be the goal not only for the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints but it’s a prize sought after by the stars of the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) as well. Both organizations will be going head to head for bragging rights, and one of the area’s best 410 Sprint payouts.

Nearly 40 winged 410 Sprints are expected for the show that will also showcase UMP Street Stocks as well as the Illinois Lightning Sprints Series.

The showdown between the top regional 410 spring organizations should produce epic racing a action.

Representing the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints will be three-time, and defending Bill Waite Jr. Memorial race winner Bill Balog. Balog, a six-time IRA champion heads into the show seeking his 10th victory of the 2014 racing season, and is coming off his first career victory at the Seymour Speedway this past Sunday evening.

Other challengers for the victory representing the IRA moniker will be A-main winners Mike Reinke, Jeremy Schultz, and talented rookie Scotty Thiel.

Additional IRA representatives include championship challengers Bill Rose, and Scotty Neitzel, both of whom are seeking their first A-main win of the 2014 campaign.

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints will be showcase nearly two dozen of it’s top pilots including cousins Scott, and Dave Uttech, the father and son team of Kris, and Dennis Spitz.

Rookie of the year challenger Ben Schmidt will also be on hand along with Russel Borland, Blake Nimee, Lance Fassbender, Wayne Modjeski, Jordan Goldesberry, Jereme Schroeder and Bill Wirth.

Leading the way from the MOWA side expect current point leader and multi-time series champion Jerrod Hull to contest for the win. MOWA will also be represented by Joey Moughan, A.J.Bruns, Chris Urish, Korey Weyant, Paul Nienhiser, Ben Wagoner, and Robbie Standridge.

In addition to the great racing action taking place fans can win a ride with Jack Hewitt in his two-seat sprint car to experience what it’s like to power slide into LaSalle Speedway’s high banked turns in a real sprint car. There will be additional fan activities including a pre-event autograph session, various prize giveaways and a Frisbee toss.

The high-banked quarter-mile oval is located at E. 578 on U.S. Highway 6 in LaSalle, Illinois. The track is 60 miles west of Joliet, 80 miles east of the Quad Cities, 70 miles south of Rockford, and 60 miles north of Bloomington.

Pit Gates will open at 1:00 pm, Grandstands open at 3:30 pm. Hot Laps will begin at 6:00pm with racing action set to get underway at 7:00pm.

Admission for the show is $22 for adults. High school students with ID are admitted for $5. Children 13 and under are admitted FREE with a paid adult. Skybox Seats are available by calling in advance. To Purchase Advance Tickets Call 630-279-3006.
