PPM and Hafford Victorious at the Waite Jr. Memorial

Parker Price-Miller was dominate on the high side of the 1/4th mile LaSalle Speedway in the winged 410, while Beach Park, Illinois’ Allen Hafford was able to best the field of 31 wingLESS Sprints.

On a warm September Sunday 35 Bumper to a Bumper Interstate Racing Association(IRA) 410 winged sprint cars signed in to La Salle Speedway to compete in the Bill Waite Jr. Memorial. The winged 410 sprint cars were joined by 31 Auto Meter Wisconsin wingLESS series presented by the IRA teams.
Kerry Madsen behind the wheel of the Go Muddy 2m set quick time over “T-Mac” Terry McCarl. Parker Price-Miller in the Indy Race Parts 71p was 3rd quick with Scotty Thiel in 4th and Mike Terry Jr. in 5th.
wingLESS quick time was picked up by Tim Cox in the Don's Auto 48. Mitchell Davis was 2nd quick ahead of Rod Colburn and Craig Campton. Allen Hafford would time in 5th in the Dave’s American Muffler 38.

Wisconsin wingLESS heats were first up and treated fans to an exciting show, as heat 1 saw Jake Kouba behind the wheel of a second Chris Klemko owned 70 machine dominate the race and pick up the win, behind him though a trio of drivers traded the 2nd position. As the checkered fell Ryan Zielski who started 7th managed to snag the 2nd position over Jimmy Sivia and Allen Hafford. Patrick Haynes finished in the 5th spot.
Heat race 2 was dominated by Mitchell Davis, who gapped the field by nearly half a lap. Behind him though 2nd position was highly contested as the the brothers Crane traded the spot multiple times. When the race ended Derek Crane had a strong hold of 2nd over Nathan Crane in 3rd. Natalie Klemko claimed the 4th spot ahead of George Gaertner III.
Greg Olson took the initial lead of heat 3, but saw many challenges from Jordan Mattson. The defending champion, Mattson couldn’t find a way past Olson, and Olson would pick up the win. Mattson settled for 2nd over Rod Colburn and Zach Raidart. Jordan Paulson claimed the 5th and final transfer position.
The final wingLESS heat race was claimed by veteran driver Dennis Spitz. Chris Klemko finished in the 2nd position over Craig Campton and Travis Mahoney. George Gaertner Jr crossed in the 5th position.

It was now time for the Winged 410 heats, heat race one was won by Chapin Illinois’ Paul Nienhiser over the Missouri Native Joe B Miller. Kerry Madsen brought his 2m home in 3rd with Chris Urish in 4th and Mike Terry Jr in 5th.
Heat 2 saw Jake Blackhurst make a daring move to split Jordan Goldesberry and the wall to take the lead exiting turn 2. Blackhurst had created a large gap between him and Goldesberry when Patrick Haynes had spun his 5h machine in turn 1, and collected both Blackhurst and Goldesberry. Terry McCarl inherited the lead with just 3 laps to go. McCarl saw no challenge in the final 3 laps and picked up the win. Jeremy Schultz crossed the line in 2nd followed by Jason Keith and Ben Schmidt. Jim Moughan saw a challenge from Jake Blackhurst in the final lap for the 5th position but was able to hang onto it and transfer into the A main.
Heat race 3 saw Tony Stewart win in dominating fashion over a pair of Indy Race Parts cars, Gio Scelzi finishing in 2nd and Parker Price-Miller in 3rd. Max McGhee claimed 4th and Kris Spitz finished in 5th.
Mike Reinke took the early lead in heat 4 but was pressured from Bill Balog for the entire 10 lap heat race. As Jim Barr waved the checkered it was Mike Reinke victorious over Balog. Brandon Wimmer brought his beautiful throwback 7tw car across in 3rd followed by Scotty Thiel and Jeremy Standridge.

The Wisconsin wingLESS B main was dominated by a pair of racing veterans as Tim Cox picked up the win over Doug Schenck. George Gaertner III finished in 3rd with Jordan Paulsen in 4th and George Gaertner Jr. in 5th.

Jake Blackhurst rebounded from his heat race troubles to pick up the B main win. Joey Moughan finished in 2nd over Scotty Neitzel, and Russel Borland nabbed the final transfer position.

The wingLESS series would be the first A main to run. Allen Hafford took the early lead, as most of the field ran tight around the infield berm Hafford was able to gap the rest of the pack. A late caution would set up a 7 lap dash to the finish. Hafford would pick up the win over Craig Campton and Mitchell Davis. Jordan Mattson who restarted in 15th utilized the high side to charge into 4th at the fall of the checkered. Rod Colburn brought his Harley Davidson 1 car home in 5th.

In the winged A Main, Parker Price-Miller took the early lead while his teammate Gio Scelzi worked his way into 2nd. A lap 7 red flag for Mike Reinke and Kerry Madsen would bunch the field back up and relieve Price-Miller of the lapped traffic he was about to encounter. Price-Miller was stalked by Scelzi thought the duration of the feature but could not get around his teammate. Parker Price-Miller would take the win followed by Scelzi. Tony Stewart rounded out the podium over Scotty Thiel and Indiana’s Brandon Wimmer came home in 5th.
