Races Continue Without the Fair

While unfortunately there is not a Kenosha County Fair going on this week, however we are extremely fortunate that part of the KCF tradition is going on, as there will be two nights of racing (Aug 21-22) this weekend at Wilmot Raceway. Friday night has Tony Stewart's Ollie's Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions joining the Wisconsin based Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series in a co-sanctioned Sprint Car SPECTACULAR. And Tony Stewart himself is tentatively scheduled to compete, joining a stout field which includes many of the premier sprint car drivers in the country. And Antioch, IL based HomeTown Hauler has come onboard as the night's title sponsor for Friday and is adding $500 to the highest finishing IRA car. I'm sure that's sweet news to several IRA stars, including Bill Balog who has captured all three previous IRA shows contested at Wilmot this year. Some of the All Star teams expected include Aaron Reutzel (TX), Cory Eliason (CA), Paul McMahan (TN), Zeb Wise (IN), Josh Baughman (TX), Skylar Gee (Canada), Greg Wilson (OH), and Gerald McIntyre (PA). Others expected include former WoO star Shane Stewart (OK), and USAC standout "Sunshine" Tyler Courtney (IN). Some of the IRA teams expected in addition to Balog are, Scotty Neitzel, Jeremy Schultz, Jake Blackhurst, Scotty Thiel, Russ Borland, Sean Rayhall, Kris Spitz, Scott Biertzer, Dave Uttech, Wayne Modjeski, Hunter Custer, Jereme Schroeder. Mike Reinke, Johnny Fahl, Jack Routson, Robbie Pribnow, Todd Daun, Blake Nimee, Austin Deblauw, Jordan Goldesberry, and many more. Add Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Bandits to the card and it's a action packed one with national flare.
Saturday is traditionally the biggest night of the Fair, and certainly at the raceway. This Saturday is a big one too. The Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints compete in the annual Roger Iles Tribute. The AutoMeter Wisconsin wingLESS Sprints compete in their biggest event of the year, the Bill Grogan Memorial, And the IRA Lightning Sprints and Bandits join in on the Saturday fun too. Wilmot Raceway does have a capacity limit due to COVID, and the same successful plan as utilized all year is in affect. To guarantee yourself a seat, you can purchase yourself an advance ticket at http://www.wilmotraceway.com for either or better yet, both nights. Save yourself $5 by buying your Saturday ticket in advance. Advance tickets can be picked up at WILL CALL booth on race day. Of course tickets and pit passes will be available on both race days too.
Special thanks to HomeTown Hauler of Antioch, Ken Iles of Carriage Auto Body of Waukegan, and the numerous other businesses and individuals that have donated to the Bill Grogan Memorial.
