Hartmann motors to solid IRA top 10 at 141 Speedway

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) September 18, 2024 – After losing a motor at Cedar Lake Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 7, Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team bounced back to record a solid top 10 main event finish in Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car competition at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wis. on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Utilizing a loaned motor from Ion Stear, the fifth year Sprint Car racer bolted out of the gate at one of his favorite tracks on the IRA circuit to record the eighth fastest qualifying lap among the 27 entries in 11.687 seconds.

The 2020 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year Award winner started second and came home third in the second IRA eight-lap heat race to lock himself into the A-main.

The Plymouth, Wis. driver then launched from the fourth spot and came home fifth in the second four-lap IRA dash to earn the 10th starting position in the evening’s main event.

When the green flag flew on the 30-lap IRA main event, Hartmann dropped back to 11th in the early going before briefly moving into seventh following a restart for back-to-back yellow and red flags on lap 13.

The third-year 410 Sprint Car competitor was running ninth after a lap 22 restart before coming home with a 10th place showing to earn his ninth top 10 A main finish of the 2024 campaign.

“I can’t thank Ion Stear enough for lending us a motor so close to the end of the year,” Hartmann said. “We had a decent night at 141. I wish we could’ve kept building on what we’ve grown, but we’ll shake that one off. We are waiting for our fresh motor to arrive, so we can be ready to let it all hang out on the last couple of nights of the season in hopes of picking up a win.”

Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team are set to enter the final two races of the 2024 Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series season at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. on Friday, Sept. 27 and at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, Sept. 28 as part of the seventh annual Wisconsin Sprint Car Championships.

Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. for the IRA’s first-ever appearance at Mississippi Thunder Speedway. Also on the card are the USRA Hobby Stocks, B Mods, Modifieds, Late Models and Stock Cars, along with Batwings and Eco Mods.

Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps at 5 p.m. for the Wisconsin Sprint Car Championships. The Plymouth Dirt Track Racing-Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Cars, Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Cars and IRA Lightning Sprints will also close out their 2024 points seasons at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Saturday, Sept. 28.
