IRA adds Shawano Speedway return to 2026 Slate
"Wisconsin's Legendary Half Mile" hasn't felt the roar of 410 Winged Sprint Cars in over 15 years, but in 2026 the Bumper to Bumper / Auto Value IRA Outlaw Sprint Series will remedy that with a Saturday, June 13th stop at the Shawano Speedway in Shawano, WI, part of their 60th Anniversary Season.
The Saturday addition creates a fantastic doubleheader in the Green Bay area of the Badger State, with Friday's Outagamie Speedway date in Seymour, WI kicking off the weekend.
The IRA Sprints will make their first appearance at Shawano since 2009, when Davey Heskin drove to victory. There was a time when the series ran the fearsome half mile annually, but both the Shawano Speedway staff and IRA officials are eager to renew relations between the track and series as a reconfiguration of the track looms in the near future.
Previous IRA winners at Shawano are as follows:
1987 Dave Hanna
1988 Gib Wiser
1996 Larry Hillerud
1997 Donny Goeden, Kim Mock
1998 Travis Whitney, Donny Goeden
1999 Donny Goeden
2000 Craig Dollansky
2001 Kim Mock
2002 Scotty Neitzel
2008 Travis Whitney
2009 Davey Heskin
Support classes for this event will be announced at a later date by Shawano Speedway staff.
Stay tuned for more exciting 2026 Schedule news as the Bumper to Bumper / Auto Value IRA Sprints continue to strengthen plans for their 60th Anniversary Season.
