IRA News Update

IRA News Update 02/26/13 The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series would like to thank Russel Borland and Jereme Schroder for displaying their cars this weekend, Russel at the Circle Track Expo and Jereme at the Bumper to Bumper Tech Expo. Both cars looked GREAT, and the teams certainly presented themselves in a professional manner. Florida News..... the new tires performed very well. The H15 RR and H12 LR combination is certainly going to be the standard combination. Please prepare to get memberships purchased by either sending them to Kim Tennyson, or by purchasing at March 13th meeting. Remember, price goes up $25 for anything received with a postmark later than April 1st. Thanks, Steve IRA News Update 02/12/13 Just wanted to provide a few updates, and definitely remind everyone that our next/last preseason membership meeting is scheduled for Wed March 13th at the Bowlero at 7pm. We have lots going, and time is moving fast in regards to prepping for the 2013 season. We are working with Josh at Driver Websites in regards to irasprints.com and that updated site is scheduled for launch mid-March. We'll continue to update the old site, and Jim Barr's irasprints.net with news in hopes to keeping everyone up to speed. Having relied on Dick for so many years, and for so many things, we're trying as best we can to pick up the load and move forward, though it is a process in some respects. He did quite a bit for us behind the scenes. We're getting a late start on memberships. Driver's (runnning for points) memberships will be $125 in 2013 (still the cheapest I'm aware of, especially considering the insurance and point fund benefits). Regular memberships will remain at $50. These prices will be through April 1 postmark, ofcourse we hope a bunch of you buy them at the meeting on the 13th. We'll use IRA / Kim Tennyson 11937 Dodson Zion, IL 60099-1373 as a mailing address. We'll get copies of all the various forms up on the sites here also within next day or so. Please bring or include a self addressed / stamped envelope and we'll get cards back to you prior to the April 20th season opener. Rule updates..... as you know we'll be on 4 corner Hoosiers beginning night #1. Howie will have inventory early April. This is a 16" RR, though it is made for a 17" wheel, so no need to buy special wheels. Both LR & RR tires that we'll be on are NEW design, so old Hoosier rears from the past (other than ASCS 16" Med RR) are NOT legal. LR is completely new design. H12 compound LR, and D15 RR will be the norm. The ASCS Med is actually a D25 compound (it is legal, but harder). MUFFLERS... IRA will continue on in 2013 with the Schoenfeld or Rocket #112535 that we've been on for several years and that everyone all ready has, however we will allow the NEWER Schoenfeld 14272735-78 also. The NEW Schoenfeld is mandatory with the WoO (muffler required tracks) & Knoxville this year. Schoenfeld has provided me some discount certificates towards the purchase of their new mufflers for those interested in running at Knoxville or at the Beaver Dam WoO show. This new muffler is a little quieter so it may be the national trend in the future, seems to be going that way as ASCS has done it for 2013 as well. Just don't want to force another expense on everyone at this point. We'll learn more in Florida this weekend and will come back and report at the meeting. Thanks to Russ Borland & Jereme Schroeder for agreeing to display their cars for us at upcoming events. Working hard at securing a few more associate sponsors, keep your fingers crossed! As a reminder, the memorial service for Dick Symoens is this Monday at 1pm in Union Grove. Thank You, Steve
