IRA Opener at Maquoketa Falls to Weather
The much anticipated debut of outlaw sprint cars flying around the banks of the Maquoketa Speedway this Saturday, April 18th, is going to have to wait a little longer, as Mother Nature has forced track and series officials to cancel the scheduled opener of the 60th Anniversary season of the Bumper To Bumper / Auto Value IRA Outlaw Sprint Series.
“I was looking forward to seeing our teams shatter the track record” stated IRA President Steve Sinclair, “it’s just not going happen this Saturday.”
Track and series officials are searching for a replacement date that will work for both entities, so stay tuned. Several days of rain, with more forecasted for Friday, plus a Saturday cold front with temps in the 40’s is the culprit.
The IRA will now plan to kick-off their 60th anniversary season where it all began, Wilmot Raceway on May 2nd.
