LA SALLE AWASH – EASTERN WISCONSIN BULLRINGS NEXT ON BUMPER TO BUMPER IRA OUTLAW SPRINT SCHEDULE!

PLYMOUTH DIRT TRACK AND 141 SPEEDWAY HOST IRA LABOR DAY WEEKEND EVENTS!

August 26, 2014; Appleton, WI – Weather played a role at the series most recent effort to present a show as the 5th Annual Bill Waite Jr., Memorial, which was to have been held at the LaSalle Speedway, fell to rain. It was the seventh event this season where unfavorable conditions forced cancellation of a show.

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints are now preparing to showcase their fire breathing 900 horsepower machines at a pair of Eastern Wisconsin bullrings during the Labor Day weekend. The goal is to give fans two opportunities to catch the fastest cars on dirt as they do battle with plenty of wing to wing action will taking place. Fans can witness the action at both the Plymouth Dirt Track and 141 Speedway this coming weekend.

The Plymouth event, held on Friday Night, August 29th has an adult grandstand admission of just $10. General fairgrounds admission is $5 and gives fans access to the Sheboygan County Fair.

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints will be joined by the tracks own 360 Sprints. Between both divisions nearly 60 open wheeled machines will take to the third-mile banked clay oval.

Last season six-time, and defending series champion Bill Balog outran local favorite Ben Schmidt who finished the contest chasing Balog to the checkered. Schmidt, a contender in this season’s Rookie of the Year title, is seeking his first career IRA victory, and a visit to a track where he holds multiple titles looks like his best opportunity for a win.

Racing is set to begin at 7:00pm with qualifying for the IRA Sprints beforehand.

The track is located on the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds just off Fairview Drive (CTY O ) in Plymouth, Wisconsin.

For additional information on the event fans can check out www.shebcofair.com or www.plymouthdtr.com.

On Sunday evening, August 31st, the 141 Speedway will see activities getting underway with hot laps at 6:00pm. Spectator gates will open at 4:00pm to allow fans to grab their favorite seat.

Street Stocks, INEX Legends and Grand Nationals will join the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints on the semi-banked quarter-mile oval!

The facility is known to produce laps times under 11 seconds with the all-time track record sitting at 10.750 seconds. The mark was set by Mike Kertscher .

During the event last season 2013 Rookie of the Year titleholder Jeremy Schultz topped the contest. Schultz who has one win to his credit already this year is looking to get back to victory lane for the fourth time in his short IRA career.

For more information please check 141speedway.com. You can also follow us on both Facebook and Twitter. The track phone is (920) 863 3377. For further information call (920) 905 1112. 141 Speedway is located 15 minutes south of Green Bay on County “R” in Francis Creek.

The series heads into the weekend with Balog sitting atop the standings as he looks to secure his seventh straight IRA title. He currently has a comfortable lead on former World of Outlaw Series regular Bill Rose. Rose, currently second in the standings is attempting to hold the position over a fast closing Mike Reinke. Rose also a rookie by IRA series rules is on pace to tie Schultz for the best point finish by a rookie in the series. In spite of missing a couple shows Reinke has rocketed up the standings, and recently ended a two-year victory drought by taking top honors in the prestigious Roger Iles tribute race at Wilmot Raceway.

Two-time IRA champion Scotty Neitzel is currently ranked fourth in points followed by a pair of rookie of the year contenders Scotty Thiel and Ben Schmidt. Thiel has already scored his first victory in IRA competition having won at Beaver Dam Raceway in early August, while Schmidt has notched a runner-up performance this season at Oshkosh Speedzone.

Scott Uttech, Kris Spitz, Blake Nimee and Steve Meyer round out the current top ten in points and all are expected to compete this weekend.

The 2014 season is beginning to wind down with 8 races left on the planned 31-event schedule.

IRA proudly moves continues it’s 2014 season backed by its long time supporting series partners led by title sponsor Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts & Service Centers, and associate series partners Osborn & Son Trucking, TW Metals, Hoosier Tire, Cedar Creek Motorsports, Cummins Onan, and Carriage Auto Body.
