THE FINAL THIRD OF THE BUMPER TO BUMPER IRA SPRINT SEASON BEGINS WITH THE SEASON’S FINAL TRIPLE HEADER WEEKEND!

POINT BATTLES AND NEW WINNERS HAVE HIGHLIGHTED RAIN PLAGUED SEASON SO FAR!

August 18, 2015; Appleton, WI – Coming off a break in the action during the Knoxville Nationals week, the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints are ready top get back to the track in a big way, with three consecutive nights of racing action this weekend.

The teams of the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint will showcase their spectacle of speed twice at Wilmot Raceway during the Kenosha County Fair. It begins on Friday Nights, as the winged, 900 horsepower outlaw sprints send the sound of 410 cubic inch, alcohol breathing engines as a calling card to join the excitement on the third-mile clay oval.

The night will showcase the intense point battle atop the point standings that has become a quartet of candidates seeking the 2015 season title.

Ben Schmidt leads the way with a mere 13 point advantage over Bill Rose. The pair have been swapping the point lead back and forth over the past several events as both racers have their sights set on the title. It’s no longer a two-man battle however.

Scotty Neitzel, who already has a pair of championships to his credit, has closed the gap on the lead duo. With a win already under his belt this season in IRA action at the historic Angell Park Speedway, and another victory just this past week in open competition at the Hartford Motor Speedway, Neitzel is primed to close that 77 point gap on Schmidt.

Not to be counted out, fearsome determination has allowed Jeremy Schultz to claw his way back into the point battle. Schultz, a former track champion at Wilmot Raceway already has a win there this season, and he used the gap in the IRA schedule this past weekend to post a pair of podium finishes in Michigan that included a win at Butler Motor Speedway. Schultz is seeking to make up 86 markers, and take over the point lead with an epic late season charge.

This year an amazing 11 different drivers have taken A-main victories, including a streak of eight different winners, which was broken when Blake Nimee became a repeat victor with an epic drive from deep in the field at the Sheboygan County Fairpark in Plymouth to earn his second victory of the season.

The Wilmot Raceway events begin in Friday Night with Kenosha County Fair event which is steep in racing tradition. The sprints return again on Saturday with the Roger Iles Memorial race featuring a cool $3,600 top prize to the winner.

Grandstands for the fair events open at 5 p.m. with racing at 6:45. Friday and Saturday grandstand admission is just $5.00 for persons ages 12 and older with 11 and under admitted free, plus a regular fair admission ticket.

Wilmot Raceway and the Kenosha County Fairgrounds are located in Wilmot, Wisconsin. Take I-94 to Kenosha County Hwy. C, C west to downtown Wilmot. Go north on County Hwy. W (Fox River Road) one-quarter of a mile to the fairgrounds and Raceway for free parking. For latest updates on the Raceway phone 262-862-2090 or check the track web site www.wilmotraceway.com. One of the longest running tracks in the national, Angell Park Speedway has a deep tradition with it’s annual Sweet Corn Festival show which is presented by the Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce. This year the IRA Sprints have been invited to become part of the Corn Fest tradition.
