IRA Interstate Racing Association

Unfortunately IRA is Rained out April 28 & 30

With two races already in the books for the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association (IRA), it's time for the first of several multi-day weekends. On Friday, April 28th the stars of the IRA will take to the Luxemburg Speedway for the Battle By the Bay. Then on Sunday, April 30th the IRA will make its first of two appearances at the Dodge County Fairgrounds.

Friday’s race will mark the third annual Battle By the Bay, an event promoted by current series point leader Scotty Thiel’s SixFour Promotions. Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin driver and 2015 IRA rookie of the year Kyle Marten will be the man to watch as he has brought home the win in both previous Battle By the Bay events. A win won't come easy for Marten though as he will not only have series regulars like Bill Balog to contend with, but former World of Outlaw standout, “The Crowd Pleaser” Craig Dollansky will be back behind the wheel of Wayne Modjeski’s 14aj.

Sunday’s event at the Dodge County Fairgrounds is the Harry Neitzel Memorial, in honor of the long time supporter of Wisconsin sprint car racing and father of series regular Scotty Neitzel. Scotty, a winner last year at the big half mile, will surely be tough to beat on Sunday. His biggest challenge could come in the form of his former crew man and mentee, Jeremy Schultz. Schultz, who ran second to Neitzel the last time the 410s visited the Dodge County Fairgrounds, has shown this year he has the speed to win but bad luck has kept him out of contention. If Schultz can turn his luck around he will definitely be a threat to win on Sunday.
