Beaver Dam Ahead for IRA Sprints

This Saturday, July 22nd, the cars and stars of the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association return to the high banked 1/3rd mile Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. In recent times Beaver Dam has been dominated by Bill Balog who has won on 7 of his last 9 appearances at Beaver Dam Raceway including the 2016 World of Outlaws event. Hometown hero Scotty Neitzel will be trying hard to dethrone Balog as the King of Beaver Dam, as will another hometown driver and king in his own right, the King Of the Sherm Nation, Jeremy Schultz. It seems though that the driver that stands the best chance of beating Balog is the driver of the Scott Thiel Builders 64 machine, Scotty Thiel. Thiel has won 2 of the last 4 IRA shows and 3 of his last 5 races overall. The STM team has come on strong in July and if they want to challenge Balog for the 2017 IRA championship, they will need to keep the momentum going.
Kyle Marten and Steve Meyer have both proven consistent as well this season, as Meyer has scored 6 top tens, and has continually been fast. Marten has been even stronger with 11 top tens and one win on the season, he will be looking to continue that momentum on Saturday.

Saturday the pit gates will open at 3:30 with grandstands opening at 4:30. Qualifying is scheduled for 6 with racing to follow.

The IRA would like to thank our wonderful sponsors, Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts, Osborn and Son Trucking, TW Metals, Carriage Auto Body, Cummins Onan, Hopf Farms, Hagar’s Half Pound Cookies and Hoosier Tire.
