Balog Struggles through Michigan and Ohio; Looking to Disco in Wisco with IRA Sprints & All Star Circuit of Champions this Weekend
Hartland, Wisconsin (May 19th, 2022) – Bill Balog and B Squared Motorsports were searching for speed with the Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1's three-race swing through Michigan and Ohio this past weekend. The team kicked off the tripleheader with an 11th place finish at the I-96 Speedway “Mace Thomas Classic” in Lake Odessa, Michigan, on Friday, May 13 and continued with a 11th place feature event finish at Wayne County Speedway. On the following night, after a 12th place starting position on the Waynesfield Raceway Park high banks, Bill Balog and the Anderson’s Pure Maple Syrup #17B finished the weekend with a spin to the infield, after contact with a competitor racing for the fourth position on the final lap. He would eventually be scored 14th, capping a challenging weekend tripleheader with the All Stars on Sunday, May 15.
“We were searching for speed all weekend. We made some deliberate changes to the car, shocks, engine and were able to find some speed, pass some cars, find some positive momentum and compete upfront. We have got to get better on these dusty, dirty, Ohio tracks.” said Balog.

A year ago, the North Pole Nightmare picked up his first career FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions Feature win at Plymouth Dirt Track with a dominating performance. Bill set Quick Time, won the Dash and led 26 of 30 laps in a thrilling green to checkered Feature in his home state of Wisconsin. Less than 24 hours later, the “Northpole Nightmare” won again, this time at the Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, on Sunday, June 6th. Earning a $6,000 top prize for his efforts, the All Stars versus IRA challenge victory not only doubled Balog’s All Star career win total to two, but it also bumped his all-time IRA Outlaw Sprint Series win total to 130; he is a ten-time Series champion and the all-time leading winner.

Seeing all the fans at the trailer, competing alongside the IRA regulars and seeing staff really set a positive tone for the rest of the All Star Season. We continue to grind and work to get better every week, no matter where we are. But, what can I say, it feels good to be home and we’re looking forward to it again this weekend.” said Balog.
