Arenz earns top-15 showing in All Stars debut at Wilmot Raceway

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 17, 2023 – In his first-ever Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions start, Travis Arenz and the Travis Arenz Motorsports team battled toe to toe with many of the most accomplished 410 Sprint Car drivers the sport as to offer, while coming away with a solid 14th-place showing in their All Stars A-main debut at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. on Saturday, May 13.

The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver began the event by registering the 23rd fastest qualifying lap in the 44-car field with a lap of 12.886 seconds around the three-eighth mile semi-banked clay oval.

After starting fifth in the second eight-lap All Star-IRA heat race, Arenz advanced one spot to earn a bid to his first All Star Circuit of Champions A main with a fourth place showing.

The 2021 and 2022 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion fired off from the 17th starting spot in the 30-lap main event and moved up to 14th on lap five.

After swapping the 13th, 14th and 15th positions over the remainder of the non-stop event, Arenz came home with a 14th place finish in his All Stars debut, which was won by Tyler Courtney.

“The car was actually decent in qualifying, I just didn’t hit my marks, didn’t slow the car down enough for the tight corners and over drove the car on both laps,” Arenz said. “In the heat race, the car was good. It wasn’t perfect, but it was good enough to get us a top-four finish to transfer to the A main.

“The A main went by quick,” he said. “I felt like I was not as fast as I could have been, but we also had some serious competition.”

Travis Arenz and the Travis Arenz Motorsports team will return to its hometown track – The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, May 20 for an all-open wheel program, featuring the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series, Plymouth Dirt Track Racing – Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Cars and Badger Midgets.

Pit gates open at 2 p.m., followed by grandstand gates at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps at 5:30 p.m.

On Sunday, May 21, the team will head to Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. for the track’s 2023 season opener, featuring the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series, along with the Badger Midgets and the Wisconsin Legend Dirt Racing Series.

Pit gates open at 1:30 p.m., followed by spectator gates at 4 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m.

“I know Plymouth like the back of my hand, so I’m hoping all the years of experience and seeing how the track changes helps out to my favor,” Arenz said. “As of now, we plan on running both the 360 and 410 Sprint Car for Saturday’s show at Plymouth.

“I’m hoping that Angell Park has a good, smooth and wide surface, so we can put on a good show on Sunday,” he said.

All 2023 Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series events will be streamed live on FloRacing.
