Estenson Facing Weekend in Wisconsin With IRA Sprints to Start Season

Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (April 15, 2024) – Tim Estenson kicks off the 2024 racing season this weekend with a Wisconsin doubleheader.

Estenson will join the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series on Friday at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City during the IRA 410 Spring Sizzler presented by Kickass Beef Jerky as well as Saturday at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam during The Spring Trifecta.

“The mindset is to try to win, which I think we can get the job done,” he said. “I’d say a top five would be ideal. Hopefully we can qualify well and that will set us up well each night.”

Friday will mark Estenson’s debut at Mississippi Thunder Speedway. He put on a show at Beaver Dam Raceway last year, hustling from 13th to second to garner the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

“We raced at I-55 and the second night got rained out,” he said. “We hustled to make it to Beaver Dam. We missed hot laps and qualifying so we had to start at the back of the heat race. We went from ninth to third in the heat. We started 13th in the feature and ended up getting second.

“With racing there in the past in a legends car, which is like 900 horsepower less, it got me to adapt to it quickly in a sprint car. Jack (Dover) threw something at it quick and we were close right off the bat. We got it dialed in for the feature and I was able to move forward. We’re really excited to go back there this weekend.”

This weekend’s action will begin a long season with Estenson mostly focusing on 410ci winged sprint cars with approximately a dozen 360ci winged sprint car races on tap.

“We’ll run Huset’s weekly,” he said. “I’ve never really ran for points in a sprint car so we’ll give that a shot. We have 90 races on the schedule right now. Hopefully we’ll get around 80 in. It’ll be mostly in the Midwest and up north a bit. We’ll race with the World of Outlaws when they are around and with High Limit a few times. We’re doing some POWRi stuff. The Midwest Sprint Touring Series has 410 races in the Midwest this year so we’ll hit some of those, too.”
