Goldesberry Continues to Find Speed Early in IRA Season
While the results didn’t show it this past weekend, Jordan Goldesberry and the Rockstar Energy Drink #65 team are as fast as ever and are just a few small “bad luck bugs” away from getting back to the IRA Sprints podium.
On Saturday at the Plymouth Dirt Track, the Springfield, IL native qualified 4th quick in Flight B, drove to a 4th place heat race finish, and was up to 8th from the 16th starting spot in the night’s A Main before a part failure ended the night early.
Sunday at Angell Park it was much the same story; up to 9th from 17th just 7 laps into the Feature before the track’s 10PM curfew put a stop to the night for everyone.
“Frustrating weekend for us for sure.” Goldesberry admitted. “We were making up good ground both nights in the features even after starting deep in the field. Our late-night speed is really good right now, we just need to put ourselves in better starting spots.”
Next up on the #65 team’s schedule will be another fan favorite Memorial Day doubleheader with the IRA Sprints, beginning this Saturday, May 25th at the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, WI for the annual IRA Founder’s Night event. Sunday, May 26th, the series heads to the high banked bullring at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, WI.
Goldesberry has found success at both tracks in recent years, having won the last two IRA features at 141 Speedway in 2023 and 2022, and visiting Wilmot Raceway Victory Lane at the Roger Iles Tribute in 2022.
The entire 2024 IRA Sprints season will be broadcast live on FloRacing, and additional “outside” races will be added to Jordan Goldesberry Motorsports’ 2024 schedule at a later date.
