Goldesberry Makes First World of Outlaws Start of 2024; Looks Ahead to IRA Doubleheader
In a rain shortened weekend with the World of Outlaws at Beaver Dam Raceway, Jordan Goldesberry and the Rockstar Energy Drink #65 team made the most of Friday night’s event.
“We qualified decent, but the entire field was just so close and put us in a tough starting spot for our heat race.” The 2022 IRA Champion stated. “The initial start didn’t really go our way and put us up front in the B Feature later on.”
The night’s B Main was one of the best shows of the evening, with Garet Williamson, Goldesberry, Scotty Neitzel and Matt Vandervere fighting tooth and nail for the final coveted starting spots in the $12,000 to win A Main.
“The car felt really good in the B Main and managed to grab a transfer spot after a great battle with Scotty and Matt.” Goldesberry said.
Starting towards the tail of the field in the A Feature, the Springfield, IL native gained ground quickly and moved into the top 15 runners before going a lap down prior to the second caution period of the race. With Goldesberry running the top line, the low lane came back into play and the #65 found itself stuck up top before the final caution of the race with 9 laps to go, and the team chose to roll the car into the trailer in one piece after an overall successful night.
“We were really good in the A Main and if we wouldn’t have gone down a lap early, we could have picked up a few more spots midway through the race.” Goldesberry said of the night’s A Main. “Still a successful night for us putting it in the show with a strong field of cars like that. Looking forward to being back with the IRA this weekend and hopefully we can keep the momentum rolling!”
Next up in 2024, the #65 Team will return to IRA Sprints action beginning with the Road America Challenge at the Plymouth Dirt Track on Saturday, June 8th. Tickets for this event will be available through the My Race Pass app or at the gate on race day. On Sunday, June 9th the team will head to Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, WI for the annual Norm Nelson Classic. Both events will be broadcast LIVE on FloRacing.
