Hartmann tallies fourth top-10 at Wilmot, faces four-race Indiana swing
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 19, 2024 – Consistency has been a strength for Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing team throughout the first half of the 2024 season, and a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series event at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. on Saturday, June 15 proved to be no different.
The Plymouth, Wis. competitor kicked off the night by turning a lap of 13.125 to qualify 12th in the 31-car field. After starting on the pole of the first IRA eight-lap heat race, Hartmann came home with a second-place finish to punch his ticket to the 30-lap main event.
The 2020 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Tracing 360 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year Award winner launched from the 11th starting spot in the 30-lap IRA A-main. A smooth and steady effort kept Hartmann inside the top 10 for the majority of the race before coming home with a 10th-place finish to secure his fourth top-10 A-main showing of the 2024 season.
“Wilmot was a decent night for us,” Hartmann said. “We have room to improve. No matter what, this team doesn’t quit. We have no time to hang our heads as we have a short week leading up to four awesome nights at four badass racetracks. It doesn’t get much better than that! We’re making sure our ducks are in a row for our mini Speedweeks!”
Hartmann and the 87A Hartmann Racing team are set to embark on the most challenging stretch of the 2024 IRA season, which features four consecutive nights of racing at four different tracks in the state of Indiana, each of which is new to the team.
The inaugural co-sanctioned Honest Abe Roofing Maverick Mayhem Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association-Maverick Winged Sprint Car Series Indiana Sprint Week starts Thursday, June 20 at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing starting at 7 p.m.
On Friday, June 21, the action moves to Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, Ind. for the Kevin Huntley Memorial. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7:15 p.m.
Maverick Mayhem Week then rolls on to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind. on Saturday, June 22 with hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. before wrapping up at Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Ind. on Sunday, June 23. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. at Terre Haute.
