Thiel records solid results in four-day Indiana road trip; Outagamie and Beaver Dam ahead

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (June 24, 2024) - Four days in the Hoosier State resulted in four solid results for Scotty Thiel and Team 73, not only finding the top-ten twice in the four-race stretch, but ultimately highlighting all outcomes with a podium at Terre Haute Action Track on Sunday, June 23. Thiel, ace of the Gibbsville Cheese, Professional Plating Inc, Ludwig & Sons Trucking, Total Restoration Services, Scott Thiel Builders, Lift Pro, Schmidts Landscaping, Complete Water, Iron Buffalo Saloon, GRP Motorsports, Lake Home Retreats, Elliott Family, Diamond Pools, No. 73 sprint car, finished third in his podium result, improving three positions after starting sixth on the A-Main grid.
Dubbed Maverick Mayhem, Thiel launched his quadruple-header (featuring the IRA Outlaw Sprint Series and Maverick Winged Sprint Cars) with a 12th-place finish at Lincoln Park Speedway on Thursday, June 20, followed quickly thereafter with a ninth-place score at Bloomington Speedway on Friday 21. “Big Wheel” raced on to finish 14th at Tri-State Speedway on Saturday, June 22, all of which concluded with the aforementioned podium at Terre Haute Action Track.
A competitive weekend, nonetheless, each of Thiel’s A-Main results were the product of forward progress, advancing 16 total positions with the most accumulated in his visit to Tri-State in Haubstadt.
“It was an awesome week, for sure. Those Indiana bullrings can be a lot of fun and I’m proud we were able to put up some solid numbers. I think we were a winning car last night…just didn’t get up on the wheel early enough,” Thiel expressed. “Just hats off to the team for hanging tough and making these last few weeks possible. We ended up racing nine events in 13 days. We’re a little closer to home this weekend so we’re hoping to put this Indiana momentum to good use and stretch our podium streak.”

Scotty Thiel and Team 73 will continue their 2024 campaign with a Winsconsin doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, June 28-29. “Big Wheel” will visit Outagamie Speedway in Seymour, Wisconsin, on Friday, followed by a return visit to Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, on Saturday.
