COURTNEY WINS BACK TO BACK FINAL FEATURES AT MAVERICK MAYHEM

COURTNEY WINS BACK TO BACK FINAL FEATURES AT MAVERICK MAYHEM

Night three of Maverick Mayhem would be hosted by the “The Class Track” Tri-State Speedway which is located in Southern Indiana. This 1/4 mile high banked dirt track provided elbows up racing all night long with Tyler Courtney being victorious in the end against heavy competition.

Peck and Courtney would lead the field to the lead, but Courtney would take lap one. Axsom would pass into second and hold off Justin Peck as they raced on the quarter mile. Sunshine would begin to pull away and put lap cars between him and the 27 of Axsom. Halfway home signal would arise and Courtney would continue to lead the way.

Axsom would continue to work his way through traffic to try to catch up to the 7BC of Courtney. Courtney had lapped up to 11th place with 5 laps remaining with 6 lap cars between himself and Axsom before cars became tangled on the exit of turn two.

On a green, white, checkered finish Courtney would have to defend Axsom, Short, Peck and Windom. On the restart Courtney would defend in the middle of the track and hold on tight for the win. Axsom would hang onto second and Carson Short would round out the podium.

The Maverick Mayhem Weekend Concluded at Terre Haute Action Track Crouch would take the early lead against the competition but Windom would slide up the track and take the lead at the flagstand.

Noah Gass would have a run on Brenham Crouch and would pass him for the second place spot and the next would fly by would be the 7BC of Tyler Courtney on the front straightaway. The race would continue as laps would tick away. With 16 laps to go, Gass would take the lead on the 55 of Windom for the lead.

Courtney would continue to stalk the prey of Gass and Windom on the half-mile. With halfway home Courtney would make his first attempt at a slide at second but Gass would have the power to get out on the high side of the speedway. Crouch and Thiel would throw themselves into the top 5.

Back at the front of the field, the battle between Windom and Gass would heat up. Out of turn three Courtney would have a MAJOR run on the two and steal the lead in thrilling fashion with 13 laps to go. Courtney would weave his way through lap traffic until a caution would wave with 8 laps to go.

Courtney, Gass, Windom, Thiel, and Crouch would restart the group Gass and Windom would fire sliders against each other. This would allow Courtney to run away. Blake Hahn would bring out the final red flag of the night.

Restart one more time with 4 laps remaining. On the restart, Thiel would take fourth from Chris Windom and Thiel would be on a mission to take a podium spot from Crouch. When the checkered flag dropped, Courtney would pull a hat trick and win the final night of Maverick Mayhem, Noah Gass second, and Scotty Thiel would round out the podium.

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Car Series is back in action this upcoming weekend this Friday night at Outagamie Speedway for Thunder at the Fair. Then the series returns to Beaver Dam Raceway for an all open-wheel showdown with the Wisconsin Wingless Sprints and the Badger Midgets.
