Big Wheel podiums at Beaver Dam; WoO Wisconsin invasion looms

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (July 1, 2024) - Mother Nature may have ruined Big Wheel’s Friday visit to Outagamie, but Saturday’s visit to Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, went on as planned, concluding the IRA Outlaw Sprint Series program with a podium performance - his second podium in less than a week.

Thiel, ace of the Team 73, Gibbsville Cheese, Professional Plating Inc, Ludwig & Sons Trucking, Total Restoration Services, Scott Thiel Builders, Lift Pro, Schmidts Landscaping, Complete Water, Iron Buffalo Saloon, GRP Motorsports, Lake Home Retreats, Elliott Family, Diamond Pools, No. 73 sprint car, finished third in the aforementioned podium outcome, improving six positions after commencing action from row five. Impressive enough, Thiel’s entire preliminary effort was noteworthy, launching action with the fastest qualifying time of the night, followed by a third-place finish during heat race competition.

As noted, Thiel’s podium was his second in less than a week, also finishing third at Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Sunday, June 23. Podiums obviously included, Thiel’s top-five count now stands at seven on the season.

“Happy with our efforts at Beaver Dam. The guys have been working really hard on our program, so I’m happy to see everything paying off,” Thiel stated. “An early draw really set the tone for us, and to set quick time was really motivating, as well…we were struggling in that department. I think we were good enough to win, just ran out of laps. We’ll work to put this momentum to use when the Outlaws come to town.”

ON DECK:
Scotty Thiel and Team 73 will continue their 2024 campaign with an off weekend, followed by World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series starts at Beaver Dam Raceway (July 10) and Wilmot Raceway (July 12-13).
