Goldesberry Scores Top 5 with IRA at Dodge County, Knoxville on Deck

Jordan Goldesberry was grateful to be back in the Top 5 with the IRA Sprints this past weekend at the “Horsepower Half-Mile”, but the 2022 IRA Champ knows there’s still work to do.

“It was definitely good to run solidly up front all night at Dodge.” Goldesberry stated. “Felt good to have speed from qualifying to the feature and put the Rockstar Energy car back where it should be. Saturday at Plymouth we missed it in qualifying and put us behind from the start. So there’s still some things we need to work on to start competing for wins again.”

Qualifying 4th overall, running 3rd in the Dash and 5th in the Harry Neitzel Tribute feature was a solid effort from the Rockstar Energy Drink #65 team, and Goldesberry hopes the momentum will continue into the biggest week of sprint car racing on earth.

“It’s going to be fun to go to Knoxville and not have the pressure of the points chase and all that.” Goldesberry said. “It’s a different kind of pressure though. The Knoxville format is brutal, but our main goal is just to have fun and represent our partners the best we can.”

Goldesberry will make two appearances off the track this week with the Rockstar Energy Drink #65, first on Tuesday, August 6th at the HyVee Fast & Fresh in Altoona, IA, followed with a meet and greet at the HyVee in Knoxville across from the track on Wednesday, August 7th.

The Springfield, IL team will contest their Knoxville Nationals Prelim night on Thursday, August 8th.

Tickets for the 2024 Knoxville Nationals are available at KnoxvilleRaceway.com and the entire week will be broadcast live on DIRTVision.
