Pair of Top 10’s For Goldesberry at Plymouth & The Hill, IRA Northwoods Swing on Deck

Jordan Goldesberry’s Top 5 streak with the IRA Sprints may have come to an end this weekend, but if it hadn’t been for a pesky tractor tire on Sunday night at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, WI, the Rockstar Energy Drink #65 may have found its way back onto the IRA podium.

At Plymouth Dirt Track’s annual Fair Night event, Goldesberry found himself buried in the mid-pack of the 30 lap A Main but once again battled all race long and stormed to a 5th place finish at the checkered flag.

“We had some electrical issues early at Plymouth that put us behind the 8-ball early.” Goldesberry said of the Saturday night event. “Rebounded well in the heat and the feature and had some awesome speed. We’re pretty happy with the way the night ended up working out.”

On Sunday, the IRA traveled north to The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, WI for the first time in series history. A strong qualifying effort set the Rockstar Energy Drink team up for a solid night, and until late in the feature a Top 5 or better seemed to be on the cards for the 2022 IRA Champion.

“Just barely caught the infield tire with less than 10 laps to go while running 4th.” Goldesberry admitted. “It was unfortunate because I really think we could have ended up on the podium with the speed we had. The guys changed the left front and we got back to 9th at the end to salvage what we could.”

The IRA tour returns this weekend with an historic weekend in the state of Wisconsin. The Northern Nationals at the Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, WI hosts the series on Friday night, while Saturday the “Best of the Upper Midwest” heads to the Cedar Lake Speedway for the annual Jerry Richert Memorial with a record setting purse for the event up for grabs. $7,000 will go to the winner and the A Main will pay $550 to start.

“We’re really excited to head north this weekend.” Goldesberry said of the upcoming Northwoods swing. “We’ve finished on the podium before at both tracks, including a 3rd at Superior last year. Hoping to continue to show this recent speed we’ve found against some stout fields.”

Tickets for the weekend’s events will be available at the respective facilities on race day, and both nights will be broadcast live on FloRacing for those unable to make it to the track.
