Dover Rallies for Top-Five Result During Season-Opening Race

Inside Line Promotions – BEAVER DAM, Wis. (April 29, 2025) – Jack Dover overcame an early problem to capture a top-five finish last Saturday during his first race of the season.

The Tim Estenson Motorsports driver battled a fuel leak early in the night at Beaver Dam Raceway, which hampered him in qualifying during the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series show.

“In hot laps and qualifying we were battling a small fuel leak, which really took my attention,” he said. “We had a bad fitting and got that fixed before the heat race.”

Dover timed in 20th quickest before he hustled from seventh to third place in a heat race. That lined him up on the outside of the sixth row in the main event. After spending the first few laps of the race running in 13th, Dover began to work forward and he found a line during the second half of the feature that propelled him to a fifth-place finish.

“There was a huge hole in turn one,” he said. “Everybody kept going below it or straight through it and getting upset. I started going above it and that’s when I started making moves. I thought I had a shot at fourth place and that the track would take some rubber low in turns three and four, but it didn’t.”

Dover’s run from 12th to fifth place was the third-most positions gained by any driver in the feature.

“I’m very pleased with how it went,” he said. “It’s going to take a couple of races to get in the rhythm. If we went there in a month with the same people and same conditions I feel we’d be a contender to win.

“I haven’t done much 410 racing in my career. And it always takes a few laps early in the season to get rolling. I’d say in four or five races we’ll be pretty good.”

Dover will take this weekend off before he tackles a Kubota High Limit Racing event on May 9 at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan. Two nights later, Dover and the team will invade Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., for the track’s season opener.
