PETERSEN MEDIA: With Mother Nature throwing Paul Nienhiser some curveballs with his weekend schedule, the Chapin, IL driver ended up making the trip to Wilmot, WI where he scored a fourth place finish with the IRA on Saturday night.

“We had a really good car all night long, but I made a mistake on the start of the race and just couldn’t make up the lost track position and we ended up fourth,” Paul Nienhiser said. “It was the first time since we built this new car at the end of the year that we had it away form Jacksonville Speedway and I was really happy with how it felt and the speed we had.”

Earning fast time in qualifications aboard the CAM2 Lubricants/Midland Performance Inc./MB Heating and Cooling Inc. backed No. 9x, Nienhiser lined up in the second row of his heat race.

When the heat came to life, the front row caused a stack up from their game of cat and mouse they were attempting coming to green and it caused damage to Nienhiser’s mount but he was able to race on and stay in the mix.

finishing second in his heat race, Nienhiser locked into the Dash, where his win from the third starting position put him on the front row of the feature event.

Making some pre feature adjustments prior to the race being called to the track, Nienhiser had a tricky start to the race that saw him struggle on the cushion during the opening laps as he did all but flip as he slipped back to fourth.

One he was able to settle in, Nienhiser tried a few different lines to make up the lost track position but was unable to do so. Keeping his machine solidly in the Top-5 for the duration of the race, Nienhiser closed the night out with a fourth place finish.

“We made some changes prior to the feature, and it reacted way different than my old cars did, so that was good to learn,” Nienhiser added. “It was a little disappointing to slip back like that, but we had a lot of speed to back up how I felt last week.”

Nienhiser would like to thank CAM2 Lubricants, Midland Performance Inc., MB Heating & Cooling Inc., Buffalo Wild Wings, T&K Tree Services, Morrow Brothers Ford Inc., American Rental Center, Signature Signs, The Auringer Family, Matt Bradshaw, Wessler Bros. Agency Inc., Haverfield Construction-Concrete, Dropped Mobile, Mason Sound, AB&C Moving, Bayer, Dekalb/Asgrow, Maxim Racing, Engler Machine and Tool, Rider Racing Engines, K1 Race Gear, and Super Shox for their support.

Nienhiser would also like to thank Heartland Trailer Manufacturing, Rockstar Wraps, Kinney Racing Engines, and Stronghurst Collision Center for their support of Scott Bonar’s No. 50 car.

BY THE NUMBERS: Races-4, Wins-0, Top 5’s-2, Top 10’s-3

ON TAP: Nienhiser is still finalizing plans for this coming Saturday night but will for sure be at the Sprint Invaders event in Davenport, IA on Friday night.
