A strong 30-car field assembled at 141 Speedway on a cloudy, frigid Sunday evening for Round 3 of the Hopf Farms Bullring Showdown. The Ragged Edge Racing 51, piloted by reigning IRA Champion Scotty Thiel, kicked off the night by going fastest in Box3 Media Hot Laps. Following hot laps, Austin Hartmann in the 87A went fastest in Carbon Safety Technologies Qualifying, picking up the Hi Plains Building Division Quick Time award with a 12.231-second lap.

A 30-car field called for a 3 heat race night. Blake Nimee advanced one position in Fox Lake Harbor presents Allstar Performance Heat Race #1 to pick up the win. Body Craft of Antioch presents Engler Machine & Tool Heat Race #2 followed, and the Auckland, NZ native Max Guilford started on the pole and hold that position to the checkered. To round out heat race action, Mr. Excitement, Travis Arenz, picked up the Game Day Men’s Health presents Behling Racing Heat Race #3 win. All Drivers, including the next seven fastest from qualifying, advanced to the Horizon Whiskey Dash Redraw.

Searching for a front row starting position in the night’s feature, Scotty Thiel and Jordan Goldesberry would pull the pole positions early on in the Horizon Whiskey Dash Redraw for Optimum Electric Dash #1 and Kristine Hartmann-Pleasant View Realty Dash #2.

The four-lap dashes took the track, with Guilford passing Thiel and Hartmann to win Optimum Electric Dash #1 and secure the pole position in the night's 30-lap feature. Kristine Hartmann-Pleasant View Realty Dash #2 followed where the Sheboygan Falls, WI native, Todd King, took the checkered and was set to start beside Guilford in the feature. Immediately after, the Bheling Racing Equipment B-Main took the green with Jake Neuman in the 3N getting the early lead and winning to move on to the feature. Also transferring were Lance Fassbender, TJ Haddy, Tyler Brabant, Corbin Gurley, and Brian Smith. The A Main Apparel B-Main award went to Alex Pokorski.

The 30-lap Sunday Funday feature wrapped up Round 3 of the Hopf Farms Bullring Showdown. Guilford took the green, and Thiel followed behind on the bottom for a jump to second. A 3-wide battle for third had instantly commenced between King, Goldesberry, and Arenz after King chose the high side at the green. King won the battle for third, while Thiel closed in on Guilford to challenge him for the lead. As the bottom line of the track was going, Thiel continued to search for the high line. The 79 of Blake Nimee found his way up to third from the ninth position, leading King to fall back to fifth. With 21 laps to go, Thiel finally found his line up top and took the lead from Guilford, which opened up the door for Nimee to advance to second. King had taken over and stole the lead from Thiel, sending him to third with 19 laps to go. King continued his lead into lap traffic, but while doing so, Thiel got past Nimee for second.

With 8 laps to go, the Honest Abe Roofing Caution Flag flew after the 19 of Joel Myers Jr. made contact with Jake Neuman, causing him to do a 360 spin in turn four. Neuman rejoined the field from the tail.

King would lead on the restart, hoping to maintain his position. King continued his lead in the 47 machine, creating a noticeable gap between him and the Ragged Edge Racing 51. With 2 laps to go, King opened up a door at the bottom for Thiel to pass and take the lead. Thiel took the white flag and led to the checkered flag. The ‘Big Wheel’ Scotty Thiel parked it in Real American Beer and Horizon Whiskey Victory Lane for the first time in 2025. Todd King and Blake Nimee rounded out the podium at 141 Speedway.

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprints will take a brief two-week break, but will return on June 13th and Jacksonville Speedway. Can’t be there? Catch all the action live on Flo Racing!
