The highly anticipated double header at Cedar Lake Speedway for the 25th Annual Jerry Richert Memorial. With a stacked over 100 open wheel race cars in the pits, a season car count high 46 of them punched into the IRA Sprint Car Series.

Fastest in Box3 Media Hot Laps went to the Sevastopol, CA native of Joel Myers Jr. Flight A in Carbon Safety Technologies Qualifying went to JJ Hickle while Qualifying group B belonged to Kaleb Johnson each picking up the Hi-Planes Building Division Quicktime Awards.

Fox Lake Harbor Presents Allstar Performance Heat #1 was won by Joel Myers Jr, BodyCraft of Antioch presents Behling Racing Heat #2 was won by Logan Julien, Game Day Men’s Health presents Engler Machine & Tool Heat #3 belonged to Max Guilford, and BR Motorsports presents King Racing Products Heat #4 concluded with Blake Nimee bringing home the win.

The Horizon Whiskey Dash Draw pole sitters were Max Guilford and JJ Hickle. Christopher Thram would win Optimum Electric Dash one, and JJ Hickle would capitalize on his pole position for the win in Kristine Hartmann Dash 2.

The two Behling Racing Equipment B-Mains were won by Jake Blackhurst and Jordan Goldesberry.

Thram and Hickle, both strong competitors around the Cedar Lake Speedway, would lead the field to green. Nimee would be the first to challenge for a top spot with a power move around the top of the speedway taking Joel Myers Jr and Logan Julien. We would race for seven laps until the first Honest Abe Roofing Caution flag of the race would appear.

Nimee would be the first to attempt to strike at JJ Hickle. Hickle wouldn’t let the 79 attack, and would dash down the backstretch. The action would be behind the two as Julien, Thram, and McCarl would be putting on a show for third. Myers Jr would appear once more around the top of the 88. Kaleb Johnson would also follow suit and jump into fifth.

Logan Julien would stumble and allow the first drivers around him as the halfway sign was shown. Blake Nimee still in second continued to close the gap to just under a second. Kaleb Johnson would take fourth with 13 to go and begin to challenge Julien in third. McCarl would also put his car back in the mix. Meanwhile, it was still the 2M’s show…

Kaleb Johnson would take third with 11 laps remaining over Julien just after the red was thrown for the 25T of Travis Arenz. He would walk away from the scene in turn two. With few laps remaining, Hickle would need to hang off Nimee, Johnson, McCarl, Julien, and Myers Jr. With 4 laps remaining, lap traffic would become a variable once more.

Off of turn four, three laps would remain as Kaleb Johnson would close on the 79 of Nimee. Nimee would take the middle while Johnson would take to the cushion and would take second on the white. The cars would orbit around the speedway, and in his first visit to Cedar Lake Speedway, JJ Hickle would bring home night one of the Jerry Richert Memorial Race.

After the checkered had been thrown, Kaleb Johnson would miss the scales and report to be in the pit area. This would disqualify him from tonight’s feature with failure to scale. This would move Blake Nimee to second, and Austin McCarl to third.

The action is back tonight at the Cedar Lake Speedway for $10,000 to win tonight. Grab your jackets and blankets and pack the place! With over 100+ Sprint Cars in the pits, it’s the show to be at!
