An outstanding 36 entries stuck out the rain showers early into the day in New Richmond, WI to race the 25th Annual Jerry Richert Memorial. With a different format for the night; five heat races and passing points being the name of the game, it was anyone’s chance to bring home that pay day of $10,000.

Fastest in Box3 Media Hot Laps went to Logan Julien. Fox Lake Harbor Presents Allstar Performance Heat One was won by Alex Pokorski, Will Gerrits brought home the win in BodyCraft of Antioch presents Behling Racing Heat Two, Game Day Men’s Health presents Engler Machine & Tool Heat Three was brought home by Max Guilford, Kaleb Johnson won BR Motorsports presents King Racing Products Heat four, and Scotty Broty won Heat Five.

With the top 16 in passing points transferred to the A-Main, two B mains were stacked. Behling Racing Equipment B Feature winners included Danny Schlafer and Jake Blackhurst.

Will Gerrits was the highest in points after the heats, but with an invert of 4 for the feature, it set Kaleb Johnson and Max Guilford on the pole of the 30 lap Jerry Richert Memorial Feature. We would first draw out the first Honest Abe Roofing Caution flag for the feature on lap five. Guilford, Johnson, Pokorski, Julien, and Goldesberry would be the top five after the green was displayed once more.

Guilford would hit lap traffic with the 6K in pursuit just 4 laps after we returned to green. Johnson was fast all weekend, so Guilford with Greg Wheeler Motorsports would need to make quick work of lap cars. Logan Julien in the 85J with outstanding speed would be the first to challenge for a higher up spot. Johnson would make contact with the turn two wall, forcing the 6K to retire for the night. That would move the 85J and 4 into podium spots. JJ Hickle would be next to try to move into the top five over the 65 of Goldesberry.

With just over halfway to go, the 16c continued it’s dominance, with the 85J and 4 behind him. Hickle would move the 2M into the top five along with Blackhurst regaining ground on Pokorski. With 16 laps ticked away, Logan Julien would get up on the bike and draw out the red flag. Julien would walk away from the scene.

The rest of the race was in the hands of reigning New Zealand Champion Max Guilford, as he would tick away the remaining laps of the feature unchallenged. Alex Pokorski would come home with a career best finish of second, and Jake Blackhurst would round out the podium.

The IRA Sprint Car Series will be back in action this Friday and Saturday as the 2025 season winds down. Friday the series will join Wilmot Raceway for their fall classic, and the series will headline the 141 Speedway for their final night there of the season. Join us in the stands or watch live on FloRacing.
