After a previous night’s rainout, racers were excited to participate in the 47th Annual Bank Midwest Jackson Nationals. 35 Sprint Cars checked into the pit area, and Jack Dover went fastest in Box3 Media Hot Laps, Cam Martin and Ryan Timms each grabbed the Hi-Planes Building Division Quicktime Award in Carbon Safety Technologies Qualifying.

Heat races belonged to Cam Martin in Allstar Performance / Fox Lake Harbor Heat One, Jake Blackhurst in Engler Machine / Body Craft Heat 2, Austin McCarl in Behling Racing / Game Day Men’s Health Heat 3, and Scotty Thiel picked up the win in BR Motorsports Heat 4.

The King of the Hill Challenge to set the first 4 rows of the feature sat Cam Martin and Austin McCarl on the front row of the 30 lap, $12,000 to win Jackson Nationals Feature.

On the opening lap of the feature, McCarl and Martin would set the pace. Thiel would be the first to challenge McCarl for the lead. He would challenge the 88 into turns one and two and down the backstretch to eventually momentairly overtake McCarl for the lead. McCarl would quickly reverse the roles and exchange it back the following lap. McCarl would set the pace, leaving the rest of the field in the rear view mirror.

Laps would tick away, as the 88 would continue to lead the way over the 7 of Thiel, 4 of Martin, and the 10 of Ryan Timms. Timms would have to be paitent to try to grab a podium spot as we marked away 10 out of 30 laps. He would break into the top three and begin to track down Thiel. Thiel would weave through traffic as the 10 would regain ground for the halfway mark. Thiel and Timms would reach the flag stand side by side at some points of the race, heightening the energy. Thiel would be passed by Timms into one and two, only to be corrected by Thiel in three and four. It was still McCarl’s race as we ticked away 10 more laps.

With 5 laps remaining, we would draw out the red in turn three for Christopher Thram and Carson McCarl. Carson would retutn to the tail of the field, but Thram would retire for the night.

It would be a 5 lap shoot out for $12,000. Timms would restart behind the 88, and this would be his oppurtinity to try to catch the leader for the victory, adding another major pay day to his 2025 card. On the start, McCarl would be joined immediatley by the 10 of Timms. Laps would count down, TImms and Thiel following him only a second behind. On the white flag lap, going into turns three and four, Austin McCarl would blow a tire sending the 88 to a slow finish. Timms would grab the win out of the final turn, Thiel second, and Austin McCarl would crutch the 88 to third.

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprints Series’ final night of the 2025 season will be hosted at the Plymouth Dirt Track for Wisconsin Sprint Car Series Championship Night. It’ll feature the stacked competition of the IRA Sprint Car Series, the Wisconsin Wingless Sprint Car Series, the IRA Lightning Sprints, and the MSA/PDTR 360 Sprints. You can watch the finale live on Floracing.
